Launch of the Entrepreneurship Summit “Together We Build Innovation in the Innovators’ Corner”

The Aden Businessmen’s Club organized the 2025 Entrepreneurship Summit, which aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial environment in Aden and empower youth and entrepreneurs through four vital tracks combining knowledge, consulting, financing, and innovation. The summit was officially sponsored by Al-Shumoul Bank and Al-Qutbi Islamic Bank, with the participation of co-sponsors (Al-Sharq Al-Yemeni Bank, Aden First Islamic Bank, and Yemen Bahrain Al-Sham Bank).

The event, held under the slogan “Together We Build Innovation in the Innovators’ Corner,” continued for three days at the Aden Mall, bringing together a number of experts, consultants, innovators, and financing entities to provide valuable expertise to entrepreneurs and business owners. The summit included four main tracks: a business consulting camp, a financial services exhibition, the Innovators’ Corner, and awareness-building activities.

During the summit’s opening, Mr. Hisham Ba’awda, representing the Aden Businessmen’s Club, delivered a speech emphasizing that the Entrepreneurship Summit is an exceptional event that brings together entrepreneurs, innovators, and business owners under one roof. He added that the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor published a report in February 2025 stating that 49% of entrepreneurs fear starting their own businesses due to fear of failure. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the three sectors in our country—government, private sector, and civil society organizations—to support the entrepreneurial environment, explaining that this event is being held to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Brother Ali Atef, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Aden, also delivered a speech, saying: “This summit serves as an interactive platform that brings together various stakeholders supporting entrepreneurship and highlights Aden’s growing role in supporting innovation and entrepreneurial projects.”

For his part, Professor Ali Ahmed Jarhoum, Chairman of the General Investment Authority, stated: “This summit represents an interactive platform for exchanging experiences and ideas, and building a network of relationships between youth, entrepreneurs, and investors. It also features inspiring events and sessions aimed at empowering young people and supporting entrepreneurial projects in Aden. He emphasized the necessity of engaging and encouraging the private sector, especially in vital projects for advancement and development. He noted that most of the projects presented to the attendees belong to the private sector, and that this participation also aims to support this sector, while ensuring support for effective and innovative projects.”

The event was held at the Aden Mall on November 17, 2025.
